Elebar Ø80 Decompression Maintenance Valve for Cold Rooms
Decompression (Pressure Relief) Valves for Cold Rooms
Elebar Ø80 – Decompression Maintenance Valve, for insulation thicknesses up to 13 cm.
Pressure relief valves are designed to equalize the internal pressure of the cold room with the external ambient pressure through ventilation. The absence of these components can cause various problems, such as stress on the joints of the cold room panels, ice formation, and other issues.
Method for calculating the required airflow to equalize the internal and external pressure:
Q = K × V × Δt
Where:
Q = Required airflow in litres per minute (l/min)
K = Constant 3.66
V = Cold room volume in cubic metres (m³)
Δt = Maximum temperature variation inside the cold room during one minute.
Example: A positive-temperature cold room with a volume of 60 m³ and a temperature variation of 2°C during 1 minute. Result = 3.66 × 60 × 2 = 439 l/min. Required airflow.
