TI-SW Thermostatic Expansion Valve (Body Without Orifice) R404/R507 Screw Type Without External Equalizer ALCO
12 mm / 1/2" FLARE (flare fitting) –45 to +20°C.
This valve must be equipped with an orifice according to the tonnage of your installation (please ask us!).
The thermostatic expansion valve meters the refrigerant to the evaporator, using a thermal sensing element to detect and transmit the superheat. The valve opens or closes in response to the thermal sensing element.
The thermostatic expansion valve maintains a constant superheat within the evaporator. Excessive superheat is not desirable, but a small amount is necessary with this valve to prevent liquid refrigerant from leaving the evaporator. Excessive pressure drop in the refrigerant circuit causes insufficient refrigerant flow to the evaporator by the valve. The use of a thermostatic expansion valve with an external equalizer compensates for the pressure drop across the evaporator. The external equalizer line is connected to the suction line after the sensing bulb of the expansion valve.
