This valve must be equipped with an orifice according to the tonnage of your installation (please ask us!).

TIE = EXTERNAL EQUALIZER.

The thermostatic expansion valve meters the refrigerant flowing to the evaporator, using a thermal sensing element to detect and transmit the superheat. The valve opens or closes in response to the thermal sensing element.

The thermostatic expansion valve maintains a constant superheat within the evaporator. Excessive superheat is not desirable, but a small amount is necessary to prevent liquid refrigerant from leaving the evaporator.

Excessive pressure drop in the refrigeration circuit can cause insufficient refrigerant supply to the evaporator by the valve. The use of a thermostatic expansion valve with an external equalizer compensates for the pressure drop across the evaporator. The external equalizer line is connected to the suction line after the sensing bulb of the expansion valve.
