The R-422D, which replaces R-22, has a high Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 2729. It is an HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) blend used as a replacement for R22 in low and medium temperature refrigeration and air conditioning systems. With properties similar to R-22, the use of R-422D does not require changes to system components, such as valves and filters.

Additionally, in most cases, there will be no need for oil changes, making R-422D the most cost-effective retrofit solution for R-22 systems. Since R-422D has a lower expansion temperature in most low-temperature refrigeration circuits that use R-22, significant energy savings and enhanced cooling capacity can be achieved compared to R-22.

R-422D is compatible with all refrigerant oils.
